Hi, I’m Damitry Dong. From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the way technology shapes our world. My journey took me through Belmont University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Systems and Analytics. Coming out of college, there were many things I was uncertain about so I decided to take a year out of school before my masters to figure out where I really want to go. Through incredible mentors and, at times, what seemed like missteps, I discovered that my true calling is in software development.

Geographic campaign tooling and vendor XML delivery

Built for the Digital Marketing team at Western Express to speed up location-based job campaigns. Teams define areas with zone polygons, pull every ZIP code in scope, and feed those locations—plus other campaign variables—through a structured pipeline that auto-generates very large XML files for third-party vendors. Full file management keeps campaign maps and outputs documented across versions and timelines.

Highlights

  • Polygon-based zoning with ZIP rollups for precise geographic targeting
  • Large-scale, variable-driven XML generation for external job-campaign vendors
  • End-to-end file management for campaign maps, exports, and historical documentation

Escalated

After-hours escalation for truck crashes and breakdowns

Built for the Western Express Escalation team for nights, weekends, and other coverage outside normal business hours—when crash events and breakdowns need immediate response. The app is available from the browser and gives the team everything required to document a valid incident, escalate it through the right channels, and work from near-live operational data (roughly minute-level latency). It surfaces event video alongside a unified driver and incident details by combining API-fed external data with in-house Western Express sources.

Highlights

  • Web-first workflow for documenting and escalating truck crashes and mechanical breakdowns after hours
  • Near-live telemetry and context with about a minute of lag for time-sensitive decisions
  • Event video plus merged driver and incident details from external APIs and internal systems

AI-assisted recruiting validation and document pipeline

Built for the Western Express Recruiting team—by far the largest system I have shipped there. PPP ingests hundreds of documents per candidate and combines TensorFlow-based document understanding with language models to support a recruiting process we redesigned end to end. It evaluates processor-level eligibility across criminal history, work history, and related records; flags inconsistencies and hard disqualifiers; and exposes the whole flow as an API. After a run completes, the service emails the right stakeholders with the consolidated outcome and drives the third-party steps and integrations the decision depends on.

Highlights

  • TensorFlow document AI plus LLMs to read and reason over large applicant packages at scale
  • Processor-grade rules: eligibility, inconsistencies, and disqualifiers from records through employment history
  • API-first delivery with stakeholder email summaries and orchestration of required third-party actions
